NE Pilgrim Chapter Rallies at Traveler's Woods Campground

On September 27, 2002 our circle around the campfire grew as ten TrailManors arrived at Traveler's Woods in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. We had attendees as far away as St. Louis, MO and Jacksonville, FL. However, we did have one unwanted guest as the remnants of Isidore passed through with rain and high winds on Friday evening.

On Saturday morning, we awoke to a sunny and clear day. Some explored the Pioneer Valley and Mohawk Trail and others biked the Norwottuck Rail Trail from Northampton to Amherst. Those who did the biking just wanted to work up a good appetite for the pot luck dinner. During the afternoon, we did a walk-through of each other's units and got many good modification ideas.

Debra Lowry and Deric Cheyne from MCD RV, a TrailManor dealership, provided repairs and tips all afternoon until the potluck dinner. We are all very thankful and appreciative of their time and help. Their constant presence at our rallies is a great benefit to all of us.

After all the work, play, and exercise, we gathered for our traditional potluck supper. At the conclusion of the meal, we held the chapter meeting. We set the dates for the spring rally and identified some potential campgrounds in eastern Massachusetts to hold our next rally. We also decided to have a Chinese Auction at the spring rally.

After the potluck and meeting, we all gathered around the campfire. We held a 50/50 Raffle to start a treasury for our chapter. We also had a taste of stardom as the meeting and campfire gathering were filmed by "The Videoguy" from Jacksonville, FL. We also enjoyed the company of the TrailBlazers President Elect, Ken Oekel, and his First Lady, Mary Lou. As the evening waned, we enjoyed the campfire conversation and were serenaded by Bob Hassard on the guitar.

On Sunday morning, some went to Gould's Farm and Sugar House for a stack of pancakes topped with native maple syrup. We then all said our good-byes as we packed our trailers to pioneer back home again.  Written by Rick Newcomb

NE Pilgrim Chapter Rallies in the Pioneer Valley

On September 28, 2001 six TrailManors arrived at Traveler's Woods in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. We were greeted by the newlywed couple of less than a week, Bob and Dottie Hassard. By early evening the rains came and we all retreated to the pitter patter of our TrailManors.        On Saturday morning, some explored the Pioneer Valley and Mohawk Trail. Some of the more ambitious campers headed to southern New Hampshire and hiked up Mount Monadnock. (They just really wanted to work up a good appetite for the pot luck dinner.) Debra Lowry, Deric Cheyne and  Bill Fain from MCD RV, a TrailManor dealership, helped out with some tips and tinkerings.           After all the work, play, and exercise, we gathered for the traditional pot luck supper. During the meal, shirts were distributed with the new chapter logo. For dessert, the newlyweds cut and shared a special cake in the shape of a guitar with the group. At the conclusion of the meal, we held the chapter meeting and set the dates for the spring and fall rallies. The spring rally will be April 26-28 at Sweetwater Campground on Cape Cod and the fall rally will tentatively be September 27-29 at Danforth Bay in Freedom, NH. After the potluck and meeting, we all gathered around the campfire with some hot apple cider and were serenaded by Bob Hassard and Vic Targett on the guitar and Bill Fain on the harmonica. I think we have the beginnings of our own country western band.         On Sunday morning, we said our good-byes as we packed our trailers to pioneer back home. We all wished Bob and Dottie good luck on their honeymoon.  We extend our thanks to MCD RV Center for the use of their webpages.

NE Pilgrim Chapter Rally has a Touch of Solar and Polar

On April 27, 2001 six TrailManors arrived at Normandy Farms Campground in Foxboro, MA for our spring rally, just nine days after the last snowfall of the season. We enjoyed the sunny weekend, which was a great end to a very snowy winter. On Friday evening many went out to dinner, afterward we gathered around the campfire and were serenaded by Bob Hassard on his guitar.

On Saturday, some of the campers visited the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence, RI to see the new baby polar bear, Kobe, born on December 12, 2000. On Saturday afternoon we held the chapter meeting and set the date for the fall rally for September 28-30 at Traveler's Wood of New England Campground in Bernardston, MA. The big news of the rally was the announcement of the marriage engagement of Bob and Dottie. We are looking forward to seeing the married couple at the next rally. May they have may years of happy camping. Saturday evening we had our traditional pot luck dinner and a gathering around the campfire.

Debra Lowry and Deric Cheyne from MCD RV, a TrailManor Dealership, brought a 2001 TrailManor to show us the new design changes that have been made  to the TrailManor. Again we would like to thank them for their time and their help. We would also like to thank them for the use of their WebPages to display photos and information about our rallies.

On Sunday morning, we awoke to temperatures in the low thirties, perfect weather if you are a polar bear. We said our good byes as we packed our trailers for the return trip home. We all wished John and Sherry good luck on their cross country touring adventure with their TrailManor.

New England Pilgrim Chapter Lands in Foxboro, MA

On September 29, 2000 seven TrailManors arrived at Normandy Farms Campground, just one hour away from the original Pilgrim landing in Plymouth. However, our Trailmanor accommodations with running water and heat were much more comfortable than the accommodations of the original Pilgrims. On Friday evening we gathered around the campfire and toasted marshmallows as Bob Hassard played a few numbers on his guitar before we all retired for the evening. That evening we all tested our heaters as the temperature dipped to 36 degrees.

On Saturday morning we explored the Campground and the Foxboro area. Late on Saturday afternoon, we had a formal meeting to discuss the official formation of the New England Pilgrim Chapter followed by a pot luck supper. We all learned a valuable lesson; the larger group, the better the dining experience. Later that evening, we all gathered around the campfire again for good conversation and to toast some more marshmallows.

We were happy to have Debra Lowry and Deric Cheyne from MCD RV Center, TrailManor Dealership, who provided many helpful hints. Again, we would like to thank them for their help and their time.

Our next rally will be April 27-29, 2001 at Normandy Farms Campground in Foxboro, MA. If you are interested in

New England Pilgrim Chapter Blazes New Trails in Pioneer Valley

On May 5th, 2000 five TrailManors arrived at Traveler’s Woods of New England campground in the Pioneer Valley region of Massachusetts. A fitting location to begin the pioneering process of forming a new Trailblazers Chapter. Bob Hassard, our host and coordinator greeted each unit as they arrived and directed them to their site. On Friday evening there was an impromptu gathering around the campfire as the Trailblazers continued to arrive.

Saturday began with individuals exploring the sights and attractions in the Pioneer Valley region. At 5:30 pm, we gathered for a potluck dinner followed by a meeting. At the meeting we discussed what was required to form a chapter and Bob Hassard was nominated as Coordinator. We agreed to hold another rally in the fall either 9/29 – 10/1 or 10/6 – 10/8 at a more central location. We hope that more Trailblazers will be able to attend. Bob volunteered to organize this rally. (Thanks Bob!) After meeting, we toured each TrailManor and discussed tech tips and tinkerings. Deric Cheyne and Debra Lowry from MCD RV Center, TrailManor Dealership, were on hand all weekend to provide helpful hints and to help out with minor repairs. We would like to thank them for their time. It was greatly appreciated. Later in the evening, we all gathered around the campfire for good conversation and toasted marshmallows, while listening to our Country Crooner, Bob Hassard.

On Sunday, we all packed up and headed home, looking forward to the next rally in the fall.
